Accessibility

Frans Hals and the Moderns is in the Frans Hals Museum’s Hof location, around 20 minutes walk from Haarlem railway station. Please refer to the museum’s website for more detailed route information about reaching the museum by public transport or by car. You can click on the map and plan your route.

Wheelchairs

If you have a disabled person’s parking permit for your car you can park for free in public parking spaces and in spaces for the disabled. Permits are not valid for car parks.

Visitors in wheelchairs can access most of the Frans Hals Museum. We have a number of wheelchairs (non-motorized). Please call +31 (0) 23 511 5775 and we will be delighted to have one ready for you.

Museum Shop and Museum Café

The Frans Hals Museum has a museum shop with a wide range of items. The exhibition magazine is also on sale there. There is a museum café serving excellent coffee and delicious sandwiches, cakes and drinks! The café opens at the same time as the museum but closes half an hour earlier.

Please note that during this period you will only get access to the museum if you have ordered a ticket with time slot in advance via this website. Your ticket is valid for the whole museum, including the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition. The time slot you choose is the time you are expected to enter the museum at our main entrance. Once you are inside the museum you can stay until closing time.

Visitors with wheelchairs

The museum is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. We have two non-motorized wheelchairs available. There are special rules for the use of motorized wheelchairs: wheelchairs with petrol-fuelled engines are not allowed. Wheelchairs must be driven at walking pace.

You can ring at the door of 18 Spaarne. There is a disabled parking space in front of the museum, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available. De Appelaar car park, close to the museum, has parking spaces for the disabled. Click here for more information about parking in De Appelaar.

Visitors to the museum who have mobility problems may be accompanied by one companion at no charge.
